CLASS C BOYS SOCCER: SETON ADVANCES TO FIRST STATE SEMIFINAL SINCE 2000 (2023-11-05)

Broome County Sports Report
The magical season for the Seton Catholic boys soccer team continued on Saturday with the Saints overcoming the absence of two starters advancing to the Class C state semifinals.
Seton took down Fabius Pompey 1-0, extending its longest postseason run since 2000.
George Phillips scored the winning goal for the Saints with John Ricci contributing the assist. Ben Moyer saved six shots.
"It was a very physical game," Seton head coach Alex Walsh said. "The boys played well for 80 minutes and got rewarded with a win. I’m very proud of them."
Walsh also also remarked on the importance of the victory and the team's run this season.
"It’s a big accomplishment for us as a team and the Seton community."
Seton will face Elba/Byron-Bergen of Section V in the semifinal match next Saturday. The winner will play in Sunday's state championship game.
