COLLEGE ATHLETICS: UE GRAD BRADFORD SCORES 22, BUT SUNY BROOME MEN'S BASKETBALL FALLS IN SEASON OPENER (2023-11-07)

Broome County Sports Report
The first week of November has arrived and winter sports have begun at SUNY Broome. The Hornets men's basketball team opened its season on Wednesday against Penn State Wilkes-Barre. Broome played PSU WB close but fell 68-63 in its first home contest.
Down 15 at halftime, the Hornets tightened their defense and inched their way back into the game. PSU WB's lead shrunk to three with under a minute to play. The Hornets brought the deficit to two, but could not convert on various chances to tie the game and the visitors pulled away with seconds remaining.
Adrese Bradford, a UE grad, had a team-high 22 points and added seven steals with three three-pointers in a 75-second span in the first half.
Axell Camacho-Cintron of Binghamton shot 75% from the field and converted two of three three-point attempts. Connor Green, a Maine-Endwell grad, snagged nine rebounds against the strong PSU WB frontcourt.
The men's and women's basketball teams will host Corning CC this Thursday night. The women's team tips off at 5 p.m. and the men's team will follow at 7 p.m.
This Saturday, Aja Jackson of Maine-Endwell and Joseph Chermak of Binghamton will compete in the NJCAA DIII Cross Country National Championships in Mobile, Alabama.
