NYS FIELD HOCKEY: BRADY'S QUICK STRIKE IN OVERTIME LIFTS VESTAL TO CLASS B TITLE GAME
Broome County Sports Report
Vestal needed overtime, but Kendall Brady made quick work of the extra frame. She notched the game-winning goal in under a minute, breaking a 1-1 deadlock and sending the Golden Bears to the NYS Class B title game.
Adrienne Mayes evened the score in regulation on a penalty stroke.
"The girls really played hard," head coach Vickie Sax said. "All 60 minutes against a very talented team."
Sax also credited goalie Reilly Storer's performance in goal.
"Reilly Storer kept us in the game with stop after stop," Sax said. "She shouldered the pressure like a champ."
Vestal moves on to the Class B state championship game on Sunday afternoon against Iroquois at 3 p.m.
