Another penalty corner preceded the final Vestal goal in the third period. This time, Mayes connected on a reverse drive off an assist from Aubree Wenner.
Goalkeeper Reilly Storer tallied four saves and conceded only one goal.
Head coach Vickie Sax praised her team's efforts throughout the weekend.
"The team played so passionately this weekend," Sax said. "Played as a team. Believed in what they could accomplish. And, executed the game plan."
Sax also pointed to the importance of her seniors, seven of whom plan to play in college.
These 10 seniors have been with me since seventh grade," Sax said. "(I'm) So happy for their ownership in the success. Their back-to-back championship state titles have elevated their confidence and will bring competitiveness to their future college team."
